Control

Second by second time moves along,
Always forward in the gulf of the unknown.
He is in control of it, not bound by its laws.
He has made a future for the ones He calls His own.
He has not left them to random chance or chaos,
But has created for them a life of peace and rest.
It is not a future bereft sorrows or tribulation.
But one solely dependent on His ever loving care.
He takes us to the very brink to show us He is there.
Not one thing touches us without His decree.
When the things of this life would crush and overwhelm
We see His good pleasures in the things He ordains.
Life is just a vapor, like the grass that withers and dies
Always marching forward to reveal His sovereign will.
He is the One that I love, the one I always will.
Not by any strength in me, but because He first loved me.
